Messages
A key feature of RaceHUB is the ability for people in the trike and team managers to communicate between each other during races and training sessions.
They are a great way to check in on your rider, make sure the trike is running smoothly, and for your rider to ask you any questions or let you know how they are going. A sample of real messages from races can be found below.
RaceHUB contains a log of all messages sent and received for each of your teams.
Sending messages to the trike
Messages can be sent from the RaceHUB app by anyone who is logged in with the Team Manager’s details (e.g. the team manager, captains, pit crew). This message is then displayed on screen in the trike using the RaceTIME app.
Messages remain visible for 60 seconds, or until another message is sent, causing the previous message to be overridden.
Pro Tip: Keep messages simple & short, ideally less than 25 words
Sending messages from the trike
Riders can send audio messages from the phone in the trike running RaceTIME, viewable on the RaceHUB app by anyone logged in with the Team Manager’s details.
Pro Tip: Teach your riders to speak up & speak clearly. They shouldn’t need to yell.
To start recording an audio message, press the microphone button in the lower right corner of the screen. Press the microphone button again to stop recording. The message will then automatically send.
If you don’t press the microphone button to stop recording, RaceTIME will automatically stop recording and send the message after 15 seconds.
Troubleshooting
The microphone button is greyed out or I can’t send audio messages from RaceTIME:
- Check RaceTIME has permission to access the microphone in your iPhone’s settings. Go to Settings > Privacy > Microphone and ensure RaceTIME is toggled on.
- Ensure the iPhone running RaceTIME is signed in with an Apple ID by going to Settings. If there is not an Apple ID listed (immediately below the Settings search function), tap Sign in to your iPhone and follow the on-screen instructions.
Messages are being received in RaceHUB but I can’t hear or understand them:
- Make sure your riders speak up and speak clearly. The inside of a trike can be a noisy environment.
- Check that the iPhone’s microphone works by following these instructions.
I can’t send messages from RaceHUB:
- Make the device is signed in with a Team Manager’s account.
- Ensure the device running RaceHUB is signed in with an Apple ID by going to Settings.
